Passthrough means direct connection from shore to the PB output. You don't have that. You can discharge-drain the PB while still charging it nevrtheless. Passthrough would save you some hundreds of battery cycles though.

If you’re using those batteries for starting the engines, you might wanna move them closer to the engines. We started off with ours about 10’ away under the helm and even with 4/0 cable, it had too much voltage drop to start. We had to move them to the back.

Am I the only one that thinks using interior/indoor romex over an exposure rated insulator and weather tight connections might be a misstep?

Chris, you should be using FS (weather-tight) boxes everywhere you have an outlet, your very first outlet should be a GFCI being as you're definitely a "wet location" and it will protect everyone downstream from the GFCI, using just a 15-amp circuit breaker could prove deadly.

Everything on the boat that is made from steel needs remade from aluminum. Boats are built like airplanes, lightweight construction.

DUDE! Don't use ROMEX! you are on a boat in Sea water!!!! Use MArine rated wire or at leas UF (Underground rated Romex). The salt air will corrode that romex within 1 season... trying to save you from having to replace all the romex in a season or two.

Chris, if you run those batteries in series you will not have 12v anymore, you need to run them in parallel if you want to keep them 12v whilst increasing the capacity. Series increases voltage whilst keeping same ampage.

Why wouldn't you consult your electrician friens before building everything the wrong way. I've followed you for a while but this project just makes me worried. If you do this wrong you could kill people so please redo everything the right way.

I just think that you are missing quite a few electrical consumers and equipment! 1. signal lights and lights for night mooring and evening parties. 2.party ship without speakers and music? 3. navigation and communication are basic for a ship. 4. do you have a toilet, will it be dark inside without lights. 5. most people have smartphones, but where do they put them and charge them when they are on the ship? 6. A socket for a hair dryer is not a bad idea. 7. I guess the New Year's decorations would also like to have some electricity for those crazy parties. 8. An alarm system with a tracking GPS tracker would also be recommended, since the ship itself will be worth a good $300,000, if not more!

26:30 It's not passing through power. It's charging and converting power at the same time. Pass through would be passing the power directly through, hence the term "pass through power". Pass through would bypass the battery and would be more efficient. Also, this is a boat, not a house. It's floating on a huge ground. You cannot wire this using household grade electrical components. You need to use ALL marine grade stuff. Please read the other comments regarding this, they could save a life.

15 amp is a little over kill,10 amp would work and save you some money,something to think about for the next build ( if this boat sinks or catches fire for some reason)

I used romex in a my boat last year,and I’ve only had 2 small fires since,don’t listen to these so called “electricians”

why not use some of the tesla salvage batteries integrated into the roof/floor for more power and better pool?
